Rachael Dickson is an experienced Trademark Attorney at Mousilli Legal Group.

Rachael worked as an examining attorney at the USPTO from 2017–2021, where she was awarded a 2020 Customer Service Award. While at the USPTO, Rachael was part of a work group which specialized in reviewing applications to register trademarks with cannabis goods and services.

Rachael directed the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic at Suffolk University School of Law as a visiting assistant professor from Fall 2022 – Spring 2024. Her legal article, High Hopes: Cannabis Trademarks at the USPTO, is forthcoming in the Ohio State Technology Law Journal in 2025. Her current legal research is focused on the trademark office's disparate treatment of traditionally disfavored good/service identifications and design search codes in their administrative resources. Rachael regularly lectures on her trademark research and trademark searching using the USPTO's new search tool.

Early in her career, Rachael worked with a medical cannabis company in Illinois on a variety of projects, including drafting cannabis license applications, training employees on applicable laws and regulations, and liaising with state inspectors. She later worked with legaltech company Haloo to develop artificial intelligence powered trademark search and application drafting tools.

Rachael earned a bachelor's degree in history from George Mason University in 2010 and her law degree from DePaul University Law School in 2015. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
